My First Attempt to Faux Leather

Here is my question to you. Does this look like leather?  Please be honest...

Hi Everyone,  I hope you are enjoying Ash Wednesday. Got my ashes today with my Daughter. She was so excited about.  Anyway,  I'm trying out a new technique that I found on youtube and I wanted to see how it turned out before I use it on a box I'm doing for a one-on-one swap.

If it doesn't, please give me some tips and/or tricks to make them look like leather.  I used masking tape and tore them in little pieces on a Kraft cardstock.  Then I rubbed vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink from Tim Holtz.  After many layers of ink, I then dry it and added some versa mark to emboss clear embossing powder and viola.  My faux leather is what you see above.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Week.

Hubby's Valentines Card

Hi Everyone,

I know, two post in one day that's a miracle.  Well, I had some mojo to make a card for my hubby.  I made a 5x5 card and I'm loving this size.  I usually make a standard size card but this time I wanted to do something different so I went with the 5x5.

Here it is:

Very simple but adorable at the same time.

I used some of the papers that I used for my kids Teachers gifts (you know using up my scraps).  Punched out some hearts with my SU heart punch.  Stamped music notes on them with Basic black SU Ink pad (which I need to get a reinker for it).  Added a metal heart from Making Memories Vintage Findings that was in my stash. Used Glossy Accents to glue down.  Stamped "I Love you" with one my new stamps I got from Party City.  Stamped the music notes all over it and cut out a fish tail at the end.  Inked the edges.   The inside was just layered with paper and patterned paper from Target.  Punched out another heart with red cardstock.  Stamped another image with two love birds and colored them with my sharpies.  Don't yell at me for not using my copics. LOL!!

I hope you all are having a Great day.

Happy Valentines Day, Everyone!

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is enjoying the day of LOVE with your families!!  I usually love this day but since I was sick to me right now, it's just another day. :)
I did want to share an altered gift to my kids Teachers this year.
Here is the before picture:
I thought this would be appropriate for their teachers, right?  It's a chocolate apple.  Hehe!!  Cute, huh!!  Well, I thought so.

Here they are all decorated:

Yay, I used my crochet hearts... I love them so much. It was hard to give them up.

My kids have two teachers in each class.  So, that's why I had to do 4 of them.  Which was so much fun to.  I hope they like them.

What I did was I used some paper Colorbok papers from Target that I just found Yesterday.  Then I hot glue some pretty pink lace at the top from my stash.  I punched out a cute border on the bottom with my Martha Stuart Punch (that I got from Yvonne aka Scrapbliss).  Loving this punch because its so dainty and adorable. Thanks, Yvonne.   Added my crochet Heart with a pearl brad in the center.  Punched out a to and from with my EK Success punch from Joanns.  Lastly, added a Prima flower and red ribbon for a handle.

I thought they came out so super cute.  I usually altered the mailboxes from Target but by the time I got there they were all sold out. boo hoo!  Oh well, I like these better.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a Great and Loving day!!

Take care, Hugs!

Tri-Shutter Card that I made

Hey Fellow Crafters and Bloggy Friends,
I'm here today to share a birthday card for Nephew this month.  I thought I would make a Tri-Shutter Card that I learn on Splitcoaststampers.com site.  I go there quit often to get ideas and learn new card techniques and folds.  It's an Awesome Site for inspiration too.

Here is my card:

I'm always struggle with masculine card every time I make one.  I don't know why that is, really... I bought this Bobunny Paper from my local AcMoore store and they were clearance's them out.  I got them for .10 cents a sheet.  I may have to go back and get some more.  Score!

I used some Ek Sucess punches for the greetings.  Love those punches.  I use them all the time now.  Then I used some buttons (my go to Masculine embellies) and Sheer brown ribbon.  That's it.  The folds are pretty easy and also the cutting too.  Give it a try.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today.  Have a Great FRIDAY!

I will be back with another birthday card I have made for a Challenge on MyScraproom.ning.com.  Check that site out it's full inspiring ladies and Gina (Aka Scrappinology) is fully exciting challenges and swaps.
