Birthday Madness

Hey Fellow Crafters,
I hope you all are having a GREAT Friday!!  As for me, it's birthday party Madness at my House.  My daugther's 7th Birthday is today and also her birthday party.  Her school has the day off and I thought it worked out perfectly to have her birthday today.  I'm just a little stress because we have a lot to do.

Happy 7th Birthday, Jocelyn!!  I Love you!

We have to pick up the cake, veg and fruit platters and finish up with the favor bags.  As you can see she is having a pretty big party.  Most of her classmates are coming.  Yay!  I just hate it when I get late RSVPers. It drives me bonkers.  I always have to make extra bags because of it.  I'll stop venting now.

Thanks for stopping by today.  TGIF!!

Have a Wonderful Weekend ahead.

Nanoysushi Surprise Birthday Blog Hop!!

Hello fellow crafters,
I hope you are having a great weekend so far.  I was asked by Linda aka Scrapchica on YouTube to join in on a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop on Nanoysushi.blogspot.com for Susi aka Sillyshisushi on Youtube.  I was very excited and honored to do this.

If you are just arriving to my blog, you may want to start from the beginning.
Here are the lineup of all the talented ladies:

So, as many of you already know it's Susi's Birthday today!! Happy Birthday, Susi. Have a fab day, girlfriend and I hope you like what I have created for you.   This was so much fun.  I got these ideas off of Pinterest.  If you havent visited Pinterest, you should.  It's pack will ideas, tips and everything in between.  Check it out http://pinterest.com/.

Here is my first project:  Owl Bags

This idea I got from Lisa on Pinterest.
I used regular paper bags.  Cute out orange paper with my spellbinders classic scallop circles.  Punched out the eyes with my Creative memories Punches and Circle system (which I have I had forever).  Used some music note paper for the body. Cut the the paper bag for the eyebrows.  Very simple to make and cute too.

Next project:  Owl Pillow Boxes

I got this idea from Pinterest too but I didn't pin it so I can't give credit where credit is due.  I'm so sorry.  I did follow a youtube video to make a the pillow boxes.  Here is the Link.

I made the box out of a 4x4 piece of patterned paper and if you follow the above link it tells you that you can make them from any size which I love.  Punched out everything from my many punches and how cute is this.  Too Cute.  You can add little treats in these boxes for Valentines or favors for party.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and celebrating Susi's Birthday with us today.

Hugs, Friday

2nd Bday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,
I have finally finished creating my Sister's Bday card.  I just couldn't figure out what papers to use and anything else for that matter.  I came across some paper I bought at AcMoore and It came together.

Here it is:

I made a 5x5 card.  I distress the edges with my Making Memories distressing tool.  I used some burlap ribbon that I got from Walmart.  I recycle a tag I had in my stash.  It was AMM tag that I got some charms long ago and I thought it went perfectly.  I used jute rope for the tag.   Then I added some prima flowers that I got from my Tuesday Morning.  And I used some bling that I cut up from and extra bling that I didn't use.  So, I'm really proud of all the reusable items I added to this card.

I hope you all like it.  Please leave a comment if you have any questions or comments.  I love reading them.

Have a Great Sunday and Holiday tomorrow.

Bday Invites!

Hello Crafty Friends,
I hope you all are having a great week so far and crafting it all the way like me.  LOL... JK.  Well, I'm just amazed on how many years I have been making my daughter's invites.  It's been 7 years now.  Wow, where has the time gone.  It was just yesterday when I brought her from the Hospital and now 7 wonderful years later she has grown to be a beautiful young lady.  She has always made me smile through the years.  I just can't believe it.

Here are the invites I made her:

This year there is no theme which I'm so glad actually.  I have done a cupcake invite to a movie theme invite.  This year is just a cake and and pick.  So simple. I used my Sizzix die - birthday cake #2.  I embossed some of the die with my Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I used the Celebration pack from DCWV for the background.  Inserted a tooth pick in the cake and behind the 7 scallop circle.  I thought it gave it dimension to the card.  Then lastly, I added some balloon ribbon to the tooth pick.  I had that in my stash for ages.  I finally got to use it.

I hope you all like them.  Thanks for stopping by and checking it out.

Have a great rest of your week and weekend.

Hugs, Friday

No 99 cent stores near me...

Hi Crafty Friends,
I give up on searching for those Cameo necklace and earrings everyone on YouTube are getting but I did find some things at a Dollar King store I have never been to.  Check it out.
I thought those stickers were pretty.  The bracelets have silver bead caps and they are all glass beads.  The rhinestone earrings would be cute for centers in flowers.  So, I go a few things.  Then I ventured to another Michael's to see if I could find those flowers that matched the papers and tags that I got in my haul video.  Well, no flowers but I did pick up another pack of papers, the cupid stamp and a You Are Invited stamp that I will need for my daughter's invites. Check it out...
So, I think I'm done for now on shopping... hehe!!  And the search for those Cameos.  Oh well.  Those Cali Gals always get the best finds. boohoo!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  I need to get cracking on my birthday card.  All these distractions... lol!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Using My Scraps

Hi Crafty Friends,
I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!  I had the urge to make some Thank You Cards for family and friends from Gifts received for Christmas.  I wanted to use up some paper I bought for a project I did last year.  I was surprise it didn't take much to use those little scraps you get after a project.
 Here they are:
I'm using up the scraps from the Naughty or Nice from Recollections at Michaels. Used some punches and spellbinder die to do simple and quick cards in a pinch.

I hope you all have a Great week.  Thanks for stopping by and check it out.

Take care,

My First Card of 2012

Hi Crafy Friends,
I have been in a rot so far this year.  I had no mojo.  I hope that is not a sign for this coming year. YIKES!!  Anyway, I wanted to share a birthday card I made for my brother for his birthday this month.  I have always fumbled on making Masculine cards for the life of me.  I just can't make them.  So, its like a blast from the past with some of the papers and products I used.  Take a peak...

I used some really old paper from Sandylion back in 2005.  Some Making Memories eyelet letters from my friend Yvette.  Thanks Yvette.  I had them in my stash and she gave me more.  So, I had to figure out a way to used them.  And viola!

I hope you all like.  I have another birthday card to make so stay tuned for that one.

Have a great weekend and Take care,

Friday
