HAPPY SATURDAY!!

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your Saturday Morning.  My family and I sure did.  We had the chance to take a peak at the Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin here in Wash DC.  this morning.  We have gone every year since my daughter was born and this year was no different.  It was a booming 34 degrees but we went anyway.  Brrrrr!!!  It didn't stop us to see the beautiful blossoms.  The kids had a great time.  I have always enjoyed going no matter how cold just to see them bloom.  Here are some pictures for you all to enjoy.

I know this is not a cherry blossom but I couldn't help but show you all this beautiful Daffodil.  It was near the Tidal basin at a nearby park.  The kids ran around and we stopped and looked at the beautiful flowers.  There are some pansies too I will share them with you all tomorrow.   I just love SPRING!!

Have a great Weekend... Thanks for stopping by and taking a peak.

Stylish Blogger Award!

Hey Everyone, I'm very honored to be selected to receive this award from Jess at http://kawaiislandgurl72.blogspot.com/  Thanks Jess.

Here are 8 random facts about little old me.  Enjoy!

1.  My home town is Hawaii.  I have lived there until I was in my late 20s.  Then, I had moved from Hawaii in the late 90's for something different.  Don't ask me why I moved to Maryland.  I had a friend to live with until I could find a place of my own.  That's when I meet my hubby.

2.  I'm the youngest of 3 kids and so is my hubby.  Coinsidence. lol

3.  I have only been a scrapbooker since 2000 but I have expanded into other paper crafting such as card making, mini albums, and charms just to name a few.  It keeps expanding everyday...

4.  My name "Friday" is not my real name.  LOL.  Really it's not. JK... My real name is Tereese.  It's really a nickname from a good friend.  My last name use to be Viernes so that's where Friday came from since Viernes is Friday in Spanish.  So, that's my story on my name that I use on Youtube and on here.

5.  My ethnic background is a total mut.  That's what we call a mixed ethnic in Hawaii.  I'm part Filipino, Korean, Portuguese, Irish, a tiny bit of Hawaiian, and some others I don't remember.  LOL...  My hubby is irish/english.  Yeah, he is a white boy... lol

6.  I have two beautiful children, one boy and one girl.  I'm totally blessed.

7.  I used to collect cherish teddies and beanie baby bears.  Yes, you read it right.  I have a ton of those beanie bears in our storage unit.  I need to get rid of them but I can't find the strength. lol...  The cherish teddies are ceramic figurines.  Oh, another thing I use to collect was Boyd Bears plush.  I absolute love them.  Well, Bears in general.

8.  I want to confess that I'm a scrapbook hoarder.  Paper, bling, punches, dies, etc... I hoard them all.  Whew, I just wanted to write that out.

I'm passing this award to 3 wonderful ladies:

Junk Journal Beginnings...

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a fabulous Tuesday.  I wanted to share the beginnings of my Junk Journal.  I covered a 5 subject composition book that I bought at a local stamp store.  I had bought a bunch of the cheaper ones at Walmart but I had packed them away.  Go figure!  I knew as soon as I boxed them up that I would think of something to do with them.   Then I went through my stash when i found these old Ann Griffin papers and I thought I'm going to use these papers on something.   So, when I got the composition book today and I knew those papers would go perfect.  I had some extra book binding cover from that same local stamp store that I had purchase awhile ago and I wanted to use them but I couldn't decide which color to use on my book so I ask Nicci over at Myscraproom.ning.com for some help.  She said the light brown one looks great and I totally agreed with her.  So, here is the beginnings of my Junk Journal.  I will show more as I embellish it and then show you all what I'm doing inside.  Enjoy...

I got this idea from Dee (deettle on Youtube).  Thanks dee.  She saw a video on the preparation of a junk journal.  I also watched it and had to try it.  Here is the LINK to that video.   She really explains what it is and how to make one.  So go check her out.  I can't wait to start adding all kinds of do-dads to this book.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and I have a great week.

New Stamps

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been blogging lately it's because I have been sick since Sunday.   I had finally gone to the doctor on Wednesday and the nice doctor diagnose me with an acute broncitis and a sinus infection so I got some antibiotics, couch medicine and an inhaler.  Sounds fun huh!... No not really... lol... I'm getting better slowly.

I did want to share with you a new stamp I had gotten from Michaels today.  I got two of them a couple of weeks ago and I was on the search for the bunny stamp to complete my collection.  They are so cute and adorable I had to buy them.  They are the dollar stamps from Michaels.  So, here is a picture of them.

So, I'll be posting some easter cards with these adorable stamps real soon.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Spring Fever is in the Air!

Good Morning, Everyone! Baseball fever that is. LOL.  My hubby's uncle's birthday is this month and he absolutely loves baseball.  Well, so does my hubby.  They are bostonians and they LOVE the Boston Red Sox.  They go down to Fort Myers, FL. every year to see them practice and to get away from the cold.  Great Idea right!  I had made a special card just for him like I do every year.  I wish I had more copics but I just used my bic markers to color the image.  I hope to get more soon so I can color more images for you all.  Here is the picture. Enjoy.

I hope you all like my card.  Just a simple one.  Using papers in my stash.  This is an image from a Fiskars stamp set.  I thought this was pretty cool to use.  I also used some vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink to distress the image.  I can't wait to get more copics so I can color more images.

I hope you all are having a Great Monday!  Have a great week too.

Get Well Soon Card

Hello Everyone!  I had to make a get well card for a family member  today and I looked and looked on-line for ideas but I just couldn't find the right card layout until I remember seeing a post from Steph at sweetcraftychick's blog.  She had made a card that she entered in a challenge and it totally inspired me to create this card.  Thanks a bunch, Steph.  I absolutely love your cards.

Here is a picture of the card.  Enjoy..
Thanks again for the inspiration, Steph...  Mahalo!!

I used some stamps from Michaels.  You know, the dollar Studio G stamps.  I also used some papers from my stash and DCWV bright cardstock.  I use SU inks...

St. Patty's Day Card...

Good Morning!  I can't believe it's already March, can you?  Where is the time going?  Craziness... lol.  I wanted to share with you a card I just made for St. Patrick's Day this year.  My hubby and his mother's family are Irish so this is kind of a must in our household.  I'm part Irish too believe it or not.  You wouldn't know it by looking at me since I'm Asian mix.  So, here is a pictures of my card.  I hope you all like it.

I went with a vintage theme this year.  I really like this image I got off the internet.  I hope my family and friends like it...  I used papers from Karen Foster Designs that I got from my local ACMoore store.  The paper is called "Pot O' Gold Collage" Paper.  I used creme cardstock for the base of the card.  Layered the pattern paper with Bazzil cardstock.  I used some trim I got from Walmart.   I had gotten some Iced Got Flowers from Prima with some Recollection bling for the centers.  Lastly, some pretty green satin and sheer ribbon from Michaels.  I really like how this card turned.  The layers really make the card look great.

I hope you all are having an Awesome Friday.  Have a Great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by...
