WW "Recycle It"

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.
We did, we hiked at a couple of parks where we live.  The kids truly enjoyed.  They are are 8 and 5.
My 5 year old hates to walk anywhere and he gets bored
real easy but he was a real trooper.  He made me proud.
We went to a place that's near DC it was called Teddy Roosevelt Island.
It was so much fun and the weather was so perfect.  Not too hot and it had a cool breeze that made it enjoyable for us and the kids.

Today, I wanted to share another Challenge project for Whimsical Designs.  We had to create a project and use something we would normally throw out.  Now, I used a grocery paper bag.  Not those paper bags from Michaels that is all nice.  This bag was big.  It fit a 6x6 sheet of paper with no problem.  I turned this bag into a card with a pocket.

Check it out:

I love how this card/bag turned out.

This came at a perfect time that I had to make my Mom a birthday card.  We were also asked to use some digi images from our sponsor Inky Impressions.  I chose the images called birthdaygirl and birthday wishes banner.  I color them with my copics. Then cut them out.  I used paper from Glitz Design called Laced Grace.  I added a doily from a Irish restaurant.  Cut out some Floral Doily Motif Dies from Spellbinders.  Inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Ink Vintage Photo.  Lastly, paper and acrylic flowers and a wheat spray from my friend Divine.  I used a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments - Whimsical Designs.

That two pieces of white paper will be notes and/or pictures from my kids to their grandmother.  I thought she would love that added touch.  I better get this out soon.  It's already late as it is. ooops!!

Love how this card turned out.  I will be going to my Target soon and getting me some of these giant paper bags.  I want to make more of these cards.  Love this size.

Please come and join us this week over at Whimsical Designs
Our sponsor Inky Impressions has offered a $10 Gift Certificate from their store to the random winner.
Come Join Us!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peak.  Come back soon for more challenges and swaps to share.

WW "Song Inspired"

Hi Everyone,
I'm here today to share a project that I created for Whimsical Designs.  I'm sorry I missed last weeks challenge but it was a hectic week for me. I sure missed crafting even for a week.
So, I'm here today to share a card that I made.

Here it is:

I love the Beatles and I couldn't help use this sentiment from Stephanie's set "With Love".  I have been using this set a lot lately it seems.  I absolutely love it.  I used a wooden heart and gesso it and distress it with ink.  I'm not sure if this is what she wanted us to do but I had to use it.

I used my scraps from my MME Love me stack from a previous card.   I just cut to fit the card base at 5x5.  I love using this size and how it turned out.  It's one of my favs.

This weeks sponsor is 3 Girl Jam
They are offering to the random winner a $15 certificate.
That's Superb!!

Thanks everyone for stopping by today.  Today is a short and sweet post.
I hope you all like.

Have a great Wednesday and rest of your week.

Take care,

Vintage Lace ATCs

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to post something pretty today.  All I see is devastation   It breaks my heart of what has happen over in Oklahoma yesterday.  I can't imagine the pain those people are facing.  I wanted to send my prayers and thoughts their way today!

I joined a swap over at My Scrap Room last month.  It's called "Vintage Lace ATCs".  I couldn't pass this swap up.  I love laces and I have a ton of so it was meant to be.  I don't have vintage lace but I do have a ton of cream lace that sort of look vintage.

I was planning to add a vintage image on my ATCs but I just couldn't find the right one.  Plus I think everyone is adding them (Which is fine).   I wanted to do something different.
One afternoon on MSR, I was chatting with some ladies on there.  There was one lady (Thandar) that have give me an idea for the ATCs I'm about to show you.  Thanks Thandar for your idea.

Here they are:

What do you all think?  Does it look vintage?  Sort of... lol!!
I will post my video (here) when I upload it.
For more details on them.

I hope you all like today and I hope my group likes them too.
I had a great time making these.  Oh one thing, I don't have a picture nor a video on the packaging I altered for these beauties.  I put them in cream bags that I added lace and trim and handmade flower.
I meant to add a picture I forgot before I packaged them up to be mailed today.
Anyway, I hope you all like them.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hug your love ones real tight today and everyday.  Have a great day!!

Take Care!

I'm crocheting again!:)

Hi and Happy Saturday my friends,
I'm here today to share something I have been working on.  Yesterday, I visited myscraproom.ning.com.  I chatted with some ladies on there and Maggie L showed me her ATCs she created for a swap there.
Well, she crochet a creation that I had to try.
Thanks Maggie!

Here is what I started with:

I'm not an expert in crocheting more of an amateur really.  I self taught myself to crochet by watching YouTube videos.  These flowers will turn into something.
Can you guess what that is?

I saw a video by Tina (DreamBigLover).  Here is her Link if you want to try this out.  It's really easy to make.  As you can see, I couldn't stop making them.  Now I have ran out of thread so I need to get more.

I will show you the finished creation later.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a Great Saturday!!

Mother's Day Card 2013

Hi Everyone,
I'm posting this early because I will be extremely busy this weekend.
My daughter is having her First Communion on Saturday and there will be family coming into town.
Yada yada yada!!

I wanted to share my Mother's Day Card for 2013.
I really like this one.  I made several of them for most of the mother's I know.

Here it is:
I absolutely love this teacup stamp and die I got last year from the Scrapbook Convention
from Heartfelt Creations.  Which we will not get to enjoy this year.  Sad but true!

It's called China Fragments Precut Set.  Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups. I used the sentiment - Happy Mother's Day from Inkadinkado - Happy Days.  I also used my Spellbinders Nestibilities - Labels 1.  I just bought a new die from Sizzix from Michaels the other day.  It's the Sizzlits Scallop Circle Insert -  657996.  It looks like an old fashion doily.  I lastly used some Recollection Adhesive Rhinestones that I cut up and added to the corners.

I hope you all like my card.

Here is an early wish to all the wonderful Mothers out there.
Have a great day!!  You ALL deserve it.

WW "Alter it"

Hi Everyone,
I'm here today to share a project I created for

This weeks Challenge is called "Alter it".  We had to alter something.  I don't know why this stumped me.  I guess I had a lot of things I wanted to alter and I didn't know which one to chose.

Here is what I chose to alter:

The other side has the other half of this metal embellishment.

This the balsa box you would find at Michaels way back when.  I don't think you can find them now.  They have different shaped ones now.

This week's sponsor is V's Sweet Ideas.
This week's winner will be given a $10 gift certificate to their store.
Awesome!!

Altered Recipe:
Balsa box - Michaels
Paper:  Romance Novel from Prima
Paper Flowers and Pearl Button:  from my friend Divine
Metal Pieces:  Monica Roca on the Scrapyard/Facebook
Sentiment:  Whimsical Designs "With Love" set
Gesso, Americana Acrylic Paint, Mod Podge, Flat Back Pearls, and Tim Holtz stretchy trim:
All from my stash

Thanks Everyone for stopping by today:
Please stop by Whimsical Design blog to check out the rest of the teams creations and/or maybe enter yourself.  I would love to see what you all create.

WW "Bling"

Hello Friends,
I wish there was more time in a day. I always feel that I'm losing crafting time lately.
I hope this week I will find more time to craft.  I have cards to make for Mother's Day.  I can't believe it's always here.

Today is another day for a Challenge.
This week at Whimsical Designs the challenge is "Bling"
I wanted to make something other than a card this week.  I chose to make a tag with this challenge.
Other than the Prima Doll Tags I made for a swap I can't remember the last time I made a tag.
It was so nice to do something else than a card.  I hope to make more tags with those dolls soon.

Here is my creation:
Don't you think this is a cute tag?  I think she is super sweet.

This week sponsor is The Paper Nest Dolls.
The team was offered an image to use on their projects this week.  I picked "Emma with Unicorn"
The random winner will be given 3 COPICS of their choice, 5 if they use a Paper Nest Dolls image.
That's an Awesome Prize!!

I used the #8 Tag from Ranger to make this tag.  I covered the tag with paper from DCWV Posies Glitter Print from my stash.  I layered half of paper doily.  Added some lace, silver beaded trim (from Divine) on the bottom of the tag. I colored the image with my copics then added some glitter glue to the unicorn and to her bow in her hair.  Love the sparkle.  I then added a metal silver flower from Monica Roca on Facebook.  For the center I placed a purple adhesive rhinestones from Recollections.  I also added some bling swirls with flowers (from Divine) and another rhinestone too. Lastly, I added some sparkly fibers (from Divine) to the tag.  I just love how this tag turned out.  I hope you all like it too.

Please visit Whimsical Designs to share your creations or just stop in and check out all the design team members creations.  They are always inspiring.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today and taking a peak.  I hope you like it.

Have a great Wednesday and the rest of your week.

Hugs,
